Our Goal is to co-design, build and run a mutually-supportive community within the Cardiff area:
- 15-35 self-contained eco-homes
- communal facilities eg shared kitchen, meeting room, car pool and external space for food growing and leisure
- built within 3 years in partnership within a Housing Association

Working with a Housing Association in Cardiff : Jan 2012 Update
A local Housing Association (HA) is seriously considering developing a Cohousing project in Cardiff with us, Cohousing Cymru. The local HA would be the developer of a mixed tenure development – they would be the landlord for a number of the homes, with homeowners buying into the project. They are currently deciding whether they are able to take the project forward with us and will be giving us their decision Feb 2012.
In December we all met with a national Housing Association, who are working with 5 cohousing groups in England, to find out more about what is involved in taking the project forward.
The HA have asked us to put together a joint bid to the Welsh Government to help finance the development of our cooperative housing project.
This is looking very hopeful as additional funding would help us develop our group and also support the HA move this innovative project forward.
